Company

Profil

We are a young enterprise with headquarters in Berlin. Our main business branches are ORmatiC Energy and ORmatiC Automation, with our subsidiary phiMicrotec. Our main emphasis in these areas lies on the following:

  • Generation of electric energy from high temperature heat waste through ORC technology
  • Automation of biogas plants

Our Company Culture

We do not just talk about the virtual enterprise, we actually implement it. Our organization is entirely decentralised, enabling us to offer fast and inexpensive customer service on a supra-regional level. Our staff members do not work from a central office but are home-based. We have also explored new paths in the integration of suppliers, partners and customers, utilising modern web technology supplied by the company phlux GmbH. This enables us to offer our customers as well as our suppliers and partners the fastest possible access to all relevant data.

History

ORmatiC was founded in late 2005 as a GbR (company constituted under civil law). The goal was the automation of biogas plants. A spin-off of the refrigeration specialist phiMatic ecocooling & Consulting GmbH, we possess many years of experience in the field of plant optimation in large refrigeration plants. In 2007 ORmatiC was reincorporated as a GmbH (company with limited liability).

Know-How

  • Optimation of refrigeration plants (Vattenfall)‏
  • Burner optimation (EKO Eisenhüttenstadt)‏
  • Regulator development (Nabertherm, M&S)‏
  • Product development (KMK, phiMatic)‏
  • Project execution (VW, bue, Infineon)‏
  • Electro-technology for biogas plants (Prowind, entec, bue)‏
  • We received an order for the first ORC project from the company Saria Refood GmbH (Remondis Group)!

Strategic Partnerships

Early on we entered into a close partnership with the company Hilbrecht & Schmidt GmbH. Thanks to this partnership, ORmatiC developed from a specialist restricted to programming of automation facilities to an all-round provider of electro-technology, including construction of Ex-approved switchgear.

Further Development

Our company’s branch ORmatiC Energy was built as an answer to the demands of customers who wanted to utilize waste heat from cogeneration plants for the production of electric power. Initial market research indicated that currently available ORC modules do not possess the required performance capabilities. Therefore, in 2006 we started the development of our ORCa® series. It is our goal to build ORC modules that can be profitably employed at an electric output range below 200 kW. In 2008 we were close to finalising the release of the first module with an electric output of 120 kW.
