Organic Rankine Cycle for gas engines with a thermal output from 80 kW

The Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) product line ORCa uses the technology of a piston expansion machine, which is optimized for the 4th generation for the automotive market. We start with the system ORCa012. This module is designed in an extremely compact design and can be installed on cogeneration units with an electrical output of 180 kW (approx. 80 kW thermal output in exhaust gas). In contrast to all ORC systems on the market, the ORCa product series can be used to feed the energy of the cooling back into a district heating network. The piston expansion machine used has almost the maximum mechanical efficiency up to 50% thermal partial loads. This is of great importance in the course of the ever-increasing central control of the small generator in the electrical networks. The control unit has a remote control unit, which allows an optimum maintenance and is prepared according to the standard VHPready. (The ORC system can also function as a VHPready interface for downstream power generators).
